Down Time in KC

Isn't it great to get away for a few days? To truly unplug? Well that's just what we did last weekend. We took a break from the wedding action and spent three days in Kansas City visiting very dear friends of ours, Meg and Zach. It was great to relax, eat great food and have good conversation. But perhaps the funniest part of the trip was spending time with their Labradoodle, Watson. It's difficult to describe this dog - he's one of those you just have to meet. Here are a few photos of Meg and Watson - I'd like to take more next time - it was just too hot to be outside very long.

Kim and Brandon's E-Session

Kim and Brandon are getting married in August and we recently photographed their engagement session in Louisville on the family farm. The old buildings were such a great backdrop, but surprisingly, there weren't any old farm equipment or abandoned cars for them to climb on. Regardless, I love how these turned out.

Mike and Tracey's E-Session

We beat the summer weather with Mike and Tracey's engagement shoot at Gifford Farms in Bellevue before this heat wave came through. Mike helped us find this awesome forested area, and the lighting was beautiful that day! These two are perfect for each other - they love the outdoors and seem to be up for any adventure. We're excited to see what they have up their sleeves for the wedding day...

Adam and Sara

Last Saturday was Adam and Sara's wedding. It's a wonder they even got together because she teaches at Bellevue East and he teaches at Westside;). But honestly, these two are very devoted to teaching and it was great to see them relax and enjoy their day.

Sara's a pretty tough gal and trained for the wedding in a variety of ways, including kickboxing class. Her endurance showed as she danced through the night!

Eric & Rachel

We spent last Friday dodging the rain with Eric and Rachel and their wedding party. It was a huge group of awesome friends who were very patient as we captured some great group shots in between sprinkles. Rachel was absolutely gorgeous and her colors were amazing.

As you'll see in the last two photos, the DJ played Sangria Wine - which was a blast! Take a listen to the song and then imagine everyone dancing in and out of the middle to take a swig of wine...they danced until the 3 carafes were gone!

Talented Friends, Part II

I recently photographed part of the Omaha Yoga School where our good friend, Carolyn Benecke, is a massage therapist. Carolyn just became her own boss and is renting space from the yoga school, where she was previously on staff. I shot some photos of her space for her new website, which will be live soon.

Carolyn is well educated in many massage techniques and has almost 10 years experience. If you're looking for a gift for a bride-to-be, or perhaps the happy couple (she also does couple's massages) - please give her a call at 402-917-5609.

Talented Friends

It's been a busy few weeks and I have a lot of photos to post here in the next couple of days, but I wanted to pause and post about my friend, Cathy Solarana. She is a very good friend and a very talented designer who recently decided to go into business for herself. We have her to thank for our awesome website. She has an amazing ability to visually communicate exactly who her clients are. Cathy has an intense desire to understand her clients and to beautifully showcase their brands. If you need design work (including invitations and programs), please give her a call. On top of her talent, she's a blast to work with.

Joe & Amy's Wedding

On Saturday, we photographed Joe and Amy's wedding in Lincoln. As you'll see in the photos, they had a relaxing start at Amy's parents' house while her and her sisters got ready. The rest of the afternoon remained much the same - very calm and stress-free. But when the giant limo showed up, it was time to party!
