Sophie the Birthday Girl

We've been capturing Sophie's budding personality monthly for the last six months and we completed the series last weekend with her 1-year photo shoot. It has been so fun to watch her grow! We also made time to get some fun family shots while we were playing outside.

Jack Turns One!

It wasn't long ago that we captured the stunning wedding of Corey and Tara, and now we have something new to celebrate with them...their little boy turned one this week! I tried to select just a few to post, but it was too hard to narrow it down - so here are 10 from his birthday photo shoot:).

Spring is Here!

As soon as the grass turns green and the flowers start blooming, engagement sessions begin for the year! We've got some awesome couples getting married this summer and we can't wait to get to know them better during our super fun e-sessions.

But before we start blogging about happy couples, I thought I'd post a happy baby. It hasn't been a totally quiet winter - there have been newborn and baby portraits.

Here is little Sophie. We're photographing her monthly from 6-12 months. It is so fun to see everything develop over the months - from her personality to her hair growth, from quiet coos to learning to babble, from rolling to crawling. Here she is at 6, 7 and 8 months.

Maeve and Seamus

As our personal life has shifted, from trying new restaurants and staying up late to watch movies, to trying new recipes and staying up late to watch our baby daughter sleep - apparently so have the lives of our clients. I suppose it makes sense that our happily married couples are having babies. I just didn't consider what becoming a mom would do to my photography perspective.

Shooting as a married couple makes us better wedding photographers, because we have experienced the deep love and devotion each of our couples commit to each other. And now shooting as parents makes us better family photographers, because we have stared at our little girl for hours, without words.

God has blessed us with the gifts of marriage and parenthood. And we are honored to share these life-changing moments with our clients.

Sweet baby Halle

Our friends, Katie and Jared, welcomed their first daughter into the world a few weeks ago. She is absolutely beautiful and we hope she keeps her full head of hair!

Kiddos

Last weekend, we spent some time in Battle Creek, Nebraska. Between our friends and their siblings, they have a brood of adorable kids. The group needed a bag of jelly beans to get them through the shoot, but they were very patient and we got some great shots.

Abram

I know I recently made a similar post: we specialize in wedding photography - but here's an exception (a cute baby). But how can I resist? Our church community (Coram Deo) is filled with adorable families.

Stopping by Brian and Millie's house last weekend was a lot of fun. Abram was so laid back. He'll be quite the catch when he grows up!
