Ryan and Katie

As you look at the photos from Ryan and Katie's wedding, it's clear Katie and the wedding planner paid very close attention to detail. From the consistency of colors throughout, to the attire; from the bouquets, to the decor at the reception. You'd think she worked with a professional to create such a beautiful day...but instead, Katie has her mom to thank. She made Katie's wedding dress and the bridesmaids dresses, she created the bouquets and boutonnieres and put together everything for the reception.

It was easy to capture beautiful images for Ryan and Katie. Not only because of the gorgeous execution, but because these two have a sense of innocence between them. The stress and timeline of the day had no affect. They were just happy to be together and celebrate their wedding day.

Kurtis and Gina

Kurtis and Gina were married last month in Lincoln. It was like a blast from the past because Gina and I know each other from high school and many of our classmates were either in the wedding party or attended as guests.

We had a lot of fun with Kurtis, Gina and the wedding party, including a stop at Doc's Place downtown to get some casual group photos. The night ended with the reception at one of my favorite venues in Lincoln, The DelRay Ballroom.

Catching Up!

I'm behind on blogging - but for good reason: wedding season is underway!

Before we get started posting our beautiful June brides, I wanted to share a few fun things from earlier this month.

Amanda and Nick are getting married over 4th of July weekend, but they live in Wichita. So we had to find a weekend to squeeze in their engagement session while they were in Omaha. A few weeks ago, we were able to photograph them on a perfectly cloudy day - you couldn't ask for better light.

And I recently had the pleasure of spending an hour with 2-year-old Ella, who is constantly on the move. Her mom told me she was having an 'off' day and wasn't quite acting like herself. She wasn't too smiley, but I didn't mind. Her amazing blond curls and curious nature was enough for me. We had a great time exploring the duck pond in Papillion.

Sophia Hope

It's been two weeks since I traveled to York to photograph 9-month-old Sophia Hope and her family. It has taken me this long to blog about it. I was waiting for the right words to come together. But what are the right words for an infant who was just diagnosed with brain cancer?

I realized there is nothing I can say. And I realized I was wasting time - time that could be spent praying for her.

I recently learned more people follow this blog than I thought...not just our clients, but friends and friends of friends.

Please visit Sophia's CaringBridge page, or her FB page if you'd like to know more about how her cancer was discovered just one month ago, immediately had surgery and is currently at St. Jude for chemo.

Please pray for Sophia. Her mommy, daddy and big sister, Olivia, need your prayers, too.
